Here is the story behind Clayton’s newest inn…
The Magnolia Inn began with a vision. It was not just to open a bed and breakfast, but to imagine a beloved cornerstone of downtown Clayton. When I first discovered the property, it wasn’t just the architecture or history that caught my eye. I saw beauty in its bones and felt a quiet pull to bring it back to life.
Meet the InnKeeper
Hi there! I’m Jordan Robinson,
owner of The Magnolia Inn.

I’ve always believed that spaces tell stories. As an artist at heart, I find joy in combining textures, colors, and vintage finds to evoke feeling. Each room at The Magnolia Inn is a canvas — carefully composed to transport you and create a relaxing atmosphere.
This journey was not without its challenges. As a woman-owned, veteran-owned business, I started with nothing but a dream and a strong will to bring it to life. I’ve also carried a deep-seated entrepreneurial drive since childhood. My professional experience lies in event planning, international diplomacy, and strategic communications. Throughout my career, I’ve been taught how to create experiences that feel intentional and exceptional.
The idea came into full focus while planning my own wedding in 2024! It was an immersive, deeply personal international celebration that reminded me how powerful design and hospitality can be. We visited Clayton while searching for our first home—and realized something was missing… a place to stay that reflected the soul of this growing town. That’s when the inn found me.
Here at The Magnolia Inn, every detail is intentional. Every corner tells a story. And every guest is invited to slow down and feel transported to another time and place.
Since then, we’ve lovingly restored this 1895 home into a space where history, comfort, and creativity meet. But The Magnolia Inn is more than a beautiful place to rest your head. It’s a unique retreat, opposite from the cold, generic hotels and cookie-cutter experiences so many travelers have come to expect. Here, hospitality is elevated to an art form. Nothing is random, and each space invites you to linger and feel something real.
Whether you’re staying the night, hosting a celebration, or simply passing through, we want you to feel immersed in history. A place where time slows down — where thoughtfulness, tranquility, and artful design make rest feel like a revelation.
Welcome to The Magnolia Inn. I’m honored to share this home with you.
