Our Philosophy
“Simply seeing is an act of creation”
At The Magnolia Inn, we believe that to see with intention is to elevate the mundane into art. Our vision is to create a sanctuary where rest, beauty, and design invite guests to slow down. Every space is curated with care, offering not just comfort, but the quiet joy of discovering the details.
Our Purpose in the Community
We aim to be a focal point in the Clayton community. Our Inn offers unique, high-quality accommodations and a welcoming space for gatherings of all kinds. Through thoughtful design, personalized service, and engagement, we seek to create memorable experiences for our community.
Our Commitments
We believe hospitality is most meaningful when it’s rooted in care. Care for history, for community, and for those who give of themselves. Here’s how we put that belief into action:
Our Community’s Historic Preservation
Our mission extends beyond exceptional hospitality—we’re committed to preserving the rich history of our property and the surrounding community. Built in 1895, this Queen Anne Victorian home embodies timeless charm, and we honor its legacy. We are thoughtfully restoring its original features while integrating modern comforts. We aim to connect our guests with the heritage of Clayton and make sure that the history of our beloved inn continues to inspire future generations.
GIVING BACK: Sponsoring Respite Weekends for Caregivers
At The Magnolia Inn, we believe rest is not a luxury — it’s essential.
Family caregivers and parents of children with special needs give tirelessly, often without time or space to care for themselves. In response to this pressing need, we are proud to serve as a Premier Porch Partner with A Mother’s Rest. They are the nation’s first nonprofit network of respite inns offering affordable, restorative retreats to those who need them most.
As part of this partnership, we offer 4 dedicated respite weekends each year. They are meant to give peaceful space for caregivers to rest and reconnect. Therefore, our goal is to surround them with comfort, quiet, and community.
2025–2026 Respite Dates:
These weekends are offered at reduced or donated rates through A Mother’s Rest. This organization helps reduce financial barriers for families who are already carrying so much.
Above all, this commitment is more than a program—it reflects our core values. As a woman-owned, veteran-owned business, we believe that intentional hospitality can be a powerful act of care. We are honored to offer this space for healing and fellowship. We are certainly proud to stand alongside a growing network of inns that give back.
Support Local
The Magnolia Inn is dedicated to fostering a strong sense of community by supporting local businesses. We love to feature local vendor goods on our property, like food and beverage items, merchandise and toiletries. We dedicate ourselves to partnerships that uplift and celebrate the talent within Clayton and surrounding areas. Doing this not only enhances our guests’ experience but also contributes to the growth of the small businesses that make our town so special.
