General Information

What is the check-in and check-out time?

Check-in begins at 3:00 pm and check out is at 10:30 am.

Do you accommodate early check-in or late check-out requests?

If you require early check-in or late check-out, please let us know, and we’ll do our best to accommodate your needs.

Is there parking available on-site?

Yes, we offer complimentary parking for one vehicle per guest reservation in our private lot. The entrance to our parking lot is located on Second Street facing the front of the inn. Street parking is also available.

Do you accept walk-in guests?

The Magnolia Inn is an exclusive boutique bed and breakfast that operates by advance reservation only. To ensure the best possible experience for our guests, we are unable to accommodate walk-in stays. Please book your stay in advance through our website or by contacting us directly.

Are pets allowed at the inn?

In order to preserve the historic nature of our property, we currently do not allow animals onsite. Service animals are always welcome.

Is the inn wheelchair accessible?

Yes, The Magnolia Inn is wheelchair accessible to ensure a comfortable and enjoyable stay for all guests. Our Regency Room, Silver Belle Stateroom, and all ground level parlors located on the first floor are specially outfitted to accommodate guests with mobility challenges, offering ease of access and thoughtful features for added convenience. These rooms have walk-in showers with a two inch curb, but showers are not wheelchair accessible. If you have specific needs, please let us know so we can make any necessary arrangements.

The Magnolia Inn is pleased to offer the following amenities, standard to every room:

Are your rooms non-smoking?

Smoking is prohibited in each of our rooms. Designated smoking areas are available outside for your convenience.

Do you offer Wi-Fi throughout the inn?

We are pleased to offer high speed complimentary Wi-Fi. The WiFi password will be provided to guests upon arrival.

Are there any common areas for guests to use, such as a lounge or garden?

Our beautiful home is yours to explore! The property boasts lovely outdoor areas. From relaxing on the porch to exploring our extensive library, there’s lots of cozy areas to discover. Parlor areas may be temporarily off limits during private events.

 Do you provide toiletries and linens?

We provide premium linens, plush robes, luxury brand soaps, shampoos and lotions. We are also happy to offer our guests complimentary dental hygiene products, razors, sewing kits and other toiletries upon request.

Dining and the Tea Room

What dining options are available?

Breakfast is made to order daily and we also offer a guest kitchen and dining area complete with fresh pastries, cereals, fruit, yogurt, and other seasonal offerings. Coffee and tea are also fresh brewed. We also offer add-on packages including gourmet charcuterie trays, chocolates, and local regional gift baskets with local snacks.

Are you able to accommodate dietary restrictions or allergies?

Yes, we are able to accommodate allergies and restrictions. Please notify our chef of any allergies or sensitivities and we’ll do our best to accommodate.

What is included in the breakfast, and what time is it served?

Breakfast is served daily. Breakfast menus are conveniently located in the binder in your room. We kindly request guests submit breakfast orders by midnight via the kitchen phone number provided. Additional continental breakfast items are available in the guest kitchen from 7:30 to 10 AM daily.

Is breakfast open to non-guests, or is it exclusive to overnight guests?

Breakfast is only for overnight guests. Additional breakfast diners may be accommodated per owner permission for an additional surcharge.

Booking and Reservations

What is your cancellation policy?

At The Magnolia Inn, we understand that plans can change. To accommodate our guests while ensuring availability for others, we’ve established the following cancellation policy:

Full Refund: Cancellations made at least 7 days prior to the check-in date will receive a full refund.
Partial Refund: Cancellations made within 48 hours of the check-in date will receive a 50% refund.
No Refund: Cancellations made less than 48 hours prior to check-in and no-shows are non-refundable.

Do you require a deposit at booking?

Rooms are required to be paid in full upon booking.

Is there a minimum stay requirement?

No.

Do you offer any discounts for extended stays or group bookings?

Yes! We have wonderful package pricing for guests spending their wedding weekends with us. We also offer discounts to guests booking the entire inn for 2 or more nights, and for guests staying more than 7 nights with us. Please inquire directly with the inn for additional information on these offers.

Do you have recommendations for restaurants or shops in the area?

The Town of Clayton boasts lovely small town charm and offers a variety of shops, dining and art galleries. Visit our Explore page for more information.

Is there a way to arrange transportation to local events?

The Magnolia Inn is conveniently located within walking distance of our historic downtown and Main Street areas. Should you need transportation services, please engage with local vendors directly. Uber and Lyft are both available in Clayton, as well as traditional taxi services.

Events and Special Requests

Can I host a private event, like a tea party or wedding, at the inn?

We’re glad you asked! Our inn can be booked exclusively for tea parties, wedding parties, work outings, corporate meetings, and much more. See our Events page for more information.

Do you offer packages for special occasions like anniversaries or honeymoons?

We do! We offer several packages, upgrades, add-ons and gift cards for purchase on our Special Offers page or directly on our Booking Site.

Can I request flowers, champagne, or other special touches for my stay?

Absolutely! We love helping our guests celebrate special moments. We are pleased to offer champagne, chocolate dipped strawberries, fresh flowers, rose petals and other special requests with advanced notice. Please indicate during your booking if you’d like any added amenities for your stay.

Safety and Policies

What health and safety measures are in place at the inn?

Our inn is equipped with emergency kits and fire extinguishers on each floor, and fire escape information is posted on the back of each room door.

Is there a noise policy in place for guests’ comfort?

To maximize all guests’ comfort, we kindly ask our visitors to follow noise ordinances from 10pm to 7am.

Do you have any seasonal closures or special holiday hours?

Our inn is available to be booked exclusively for guests, availability permitting. We are pleased to offer accommodations for large parties, wedding guests, reunions and other group reservations. Our inn operates 24/7 and we offer seasonal adaptations for an enjoyable stay.

Are children allowed to stay at the inn? Is there an age restriction?

Yes, children are welcomed at The Magnolia Inn. For families needing extra sleeping arrangements, we offer rollout beds upon request. However, please note that we do not provide cribs or other small accommodations specifically for young children. We recommend that guests with infants or toddlers bring any necessary sleep arrangements to ensure a comfortable stay for the whole family.
